Help with music 2000

Hoping someone has some advice/experience with music making proggie, can majke track no wuckers but cant get it to record a sample (well it does but when I try to play it it comes up silent)

Have tried playing with cd volumes and all that crap, only thing I have not been able to find is how to set cd as recording device (in sound options for record cd is an option to alter sound on so I think it may mena its already configured)

the quiality of your recording sample will not be up to par compared to recording with a good program designed for wav editing.

Sound forge or cool edit all the way.

you can clean up the sample alot too, drop bass or treble etc to help cull out some bg noise
