GA Dead ?

I dunno about you guys but I believe GA has finaly shot themselves in the foot. For 3 days now I have logged on to the servers between the hours of 6PM and Midnight only to find the servers compleatly EMPTY ??? Even on Sunday night there was no one in there. So I like others then moved over to Optpus. There was alot of familiar faces in there that used to play on GA but not anymore I think that cogs and steam just dont seem to Gel together. Now I know this aint gonna wash to well with some people but look at the facts people there aint no one using cogs. Out of the 5 DoD servers there is 1 server that has 16 players in it and as I look at steam nearly all the DoD servers are nearly all to 3/4 full. Perhaps it might be time to toss the old gogs in the bin and admit defeat. 8)

Its nothing to do with GA it is just TFC going through its normal slow stage again, I have see the same thing every so often during the 5 years I have played it, kiddies with no staying power will leave and a whole new bunch of players will find it and away it will go again.

Also there are 2715 players at this moment saying COGS is cool so go back to whingpool with your anti other telstra mates.

cogs is not the problem, TFC is just going very slow... if not dying

the majority of the NS community (which i am now a part of) uses the GA NS servers and on busy nights they are all usually full

GA TFC may be slow but other games are thriving _b

I love new/old custom maps, I like the maps on GA 2, but as far as the new TFC players of today, they like valve only maps. All this steam on top of cogs may be a bit much for some not so switched on players.

I remember it being almost imposible to get on a server in school holidays.

GA is percieved as "not cool" by the leet tfcers in this so called "community"

I think you would be lucky to get 75 regular TFC players in Ozz.

Viss you can allways play CS, 10000's of servers.

Any way, stiff shit. Oh and C&C Generals Zero Hour is the way to go. Ive played it on GA, well sort of.

GA did themselves a disservice in takingso long to go to steam...nost ppl have just given up on them atm....when the ladder for dod reopens there maybe more ppl moving but fromwaht I have heard cogs and steam chug some lower end machines

steam support is coming with the next NS update, NS 3.0 which is bringing a whole lot new stuff into NS including NS:C, i doubt players will leave

hmmm methinks due to ga not going steam for a while did not help(also slow down in tfc too)- but there is always action happening on the optus servers - #1 is nearly always full. And given we (telstra crew) have been blessed by the god of lucky drinks (ie unlimited) there is no real incentive to play on ga now :drool:

My point exactly cookie what I was trying to say is that with steam now in full swing its much easyer to join other servers and people dont have to worry about limits so thay are going to go where the action is. If ga was not behind a firewall it to would have players in it like the rest of the servers. LIke ive said above even the DoD servers have died in teh ass and thats unusual.

Well looking back on this thread its not looking to good :cry: Where is every one been playing I look at GA servers just about every night and no one is ever playing in it ohhh cept 2 days ago I saw 3 POO players in a server. At this rate we could hold a private prac on the public server and no one would join :)

I saw em there a while ago..tried to join and got banned...suppose it was cos I didn't have COGS (Crap Online Gaming Shit) running oh and PtP soz mate but I always hated cogs I know you being a gameop needa support it but I'm not and dont ;)
