Some very bad news for Computer Users around the world today. 321 Studios, the publishers of DVD X Copy, DVD X Copy Platinum etc have been told by the court they must stop selling their programs in 7 days.

While there's plenty of other ways to copy a DVD all this is going to do is force these programs underground where Support/Stability are secondary :?

Lets hope they send the code offshore and distribute it from another country as CDclone did, I would hate to lose such a great proggy, wonder what impact this will have on the new GamesXcopy.

Some info on the 321 Studios situation

News of 321 Studios latest ploy (http://www.broadbandreports.com/shownews/39341)

Snippet:

321 Studios plays hard to get
DVD CopyX to ship minus infringing code

According to the WSJ online, 321 Studios is leaping its recent court defeat by planning to continue to ship DVD CopyX minus the DMCA infringing decryption code. As Linux users of open source DVD burning software are aware, it is trivial to google for and download the necessary DMCA infringing code block from multiple offshore web servers. It is possible that 321 Studios will be able to build a connector to this software, thus both obeying the DMCA, and not cutting into its profit margins.
