AT WINHEC, GABE THE MAN said that the highly anticipated Half Life 2 is going to come in summer. It demonstrated the game showing its Half Life 2 engine on the latest ATI card, the X800XT.
We were able to see this video and it looks good I cannot say I was not intrigued. Its ATI's game, it's part of the Get in the game program that cost ATI $6 million. ATI got quite burned since Half Life 2 is still a myth. ATI's Radeon 9800XT and 9600XT customers with the now legendary voucher feel betrayed as ATI is about to ship a new generation of card before the game's even arrived.
We know that ATI will say "it's not our fault" but it is the one that sold quite a few cards because of that piece of paper.
We will ask ATI whether Half Life 2 is going to be bundled with new X800XT and PRO cards but we assume that they will. We just hope it won't take too long to get our hands on this game, even though we'll have to take the voucher wallpaper off the wall.
Let's hope that nothing will postpone the game again.
