I have change the CAT 5 cable that came with my motorola SB5100 (white and very stiff) for brand new Cat 5 from Jaycar Electronic (red in colour) the same message appears ! I don't what the problem is but my connection goes through my Dlink DI 624+ Wireless broadband router and I have a 2.4ghz Uniden DSS 2455 Cordless phone on my computer desk as well , would this interfere ?

Yes i did google this previously and I haven't found anything that points me in the right direction and that forum there is no solution for my particular problem

I have an idea it could be something to do with my NIC --power management in advanced settings whereby it shuts offs to save power but this never happened when my cable modem was connected diretly to the same on-board NIC so I don't think that is the problem. I have another guess that my 2.4ghz Uniden DSS 2455 Cordless phone could be interfering with my wireless connection but I haven't any proof and Dlink don't officially indicate this is a problem I don't want to have to turn off my phone just to use the internet !!
