Like the rest of you I have been caught up in the hype of games like HL2 and Pacific Assault coming soon and seemed to have missed a game called Men of Valour that has been released, after stumbling on it and after playing it for a day believe it is as good if not better than Pacific Assault is going to be.

Set around the time of the Vietnam War, 'Men of Valour' puts the player in the role of a marine. I'm not going to ruin the story line, but the plot is very well thought up, and doesn't fade away.

This game is a shooter and is very similar to games such as MOH, Call of Duty and Vietcong. The 3D sound didn't stop to amaze me as it actually makes you feel you are there, the graphics of the jungle are parraleled to none, as well as all the cities in the game being well crafted and built. The AI has realistic tactics and movement, meaning you’re kept on your toes throughout the game, looking here and there to stop them ambushing you.

One of the things in this game that excites me is the ever so carefully produced cut scenes spread right through the game at every climactic point. These really catch the emotions of the soldier and the detail is phenomenal. A real eye catcher.

The interface is easy to use and even a gaming 'beginner' will find this game easy to play. If you are in to FPS or war/ historic games, then this is defiantly a game for you so go out and grab it.

It weighs in at a hefty 3.6gig installed and for those who a going to grab a preview version ;) it is a huge 2.9gig Download.

Went and bought it on your recommendation and a couple of reviews. It really is a lovely looking game and it may even be considered a classic once the hype of HL2 dies down. So far I feel it's better than Call Of Duty.

Highly recommended as PtP! suggested :)

I'd rate it as good, never really gets great. The AI team mates are ok but as usual you have to do most of the work. Visually it is a heap better then Vietcong and Nam 69. Bullets pass straight through team mates so no chance of friendly fire.

Crosshair is a little weird but I don't mind it. Its certainly better then all the other vietnam FPS games on the market for single player but I don't think many people will give the game much thought in a couple of months.

Napalm looks great, not the pissy one in BFV. Models are pretty good for humans and weapons. No physics or rag doll in the game really, not sure what engine it uses.
Some levels are fairly open (hate the invisible walls in Vietcong)

Its keeping me ammused till HL2's release. The music might be good but I turned it off after a bit, much prefer being able to hear the sounds of the forest, people etc

trauma'] The AI team mates are ok but as usual you have to do most of the work. Is not that the point of the game ie: you kill the cong and not your ai team mates ;) I paid to kill them not the bloody ai's.

I get these games for single player goodness.

Sort of takes away some of the realism when your team mates cant get hurt by badly placed grens, etc.

not saying its a bad game, but once ive finished it i doubt ill ever play it again
