Telstra will reintroduce the 20GB BigPond Cable plan as well as returning discounts for ADSL customers who preselect their phone line to Telstra.
2GB plans on all speeds and the 256/64 500MB plan will be dropped as part of the reshuffle, though existing customers will be allowed to remain on the previous plans for the duration of their contract.
The returned 20GB Cable plan comes at a reduced rate of $99 after being dropped in the last round of plan changes.
However, Telstra's capped plans have a 15c/MB excess usage charge. Only customers on the "unlimited*" plan get unlimited usage at possibly reduced speeds after the initial 10GB which is guaranteed at full speed.
Telstra has been developing the changes under a project codenamed "Panama phase 2", expanding upon Project Panama changes (http://whirlpool.net.au/article.cfm/1326) reported in September. The information was provided to Whirlpool in documents procured by a source close to Telstra.
Full plan details are available in the article continuation.</SPAN></SPAN></SPAN>
