BitTorrent is a wonderful way to download files with greater reliability than other conventional means, but of course that means that it is used greatly for piracy... apparently. The MPAA certainly think so, and they are today launching a new legal campaign targeting the BitTorrent and eDonkey file-swapping networks (http://www.techspot.com/redir?target=http://www.neowin.net/comments.php?id=26263&category=main), which they say are used extensively to swap pirated movies.

"These people are parasites, leeching off the creative activity of others. [They] serve as traffic cops connecting those who want to steal movies with those who have a copy and want to provide it." - John Malcolm, the MPAA's director of worldwide antipiracy operations.

The MPAA is currently working with law enforcement agencies in the United States and Europe to round up and arrest people who are involved in this piracy. Apparently some seven servers have already been seized, with more arrests and seizures to come soon.

That is absurd. If they actually released these damn movies worldwide on the same day there would'nt be so many people downloading them! Look at movies like SAW and The Incredibles. One is at the cinemas, the other is coming at the end of this month. You can download dvd's of them already!

A prime example is Bad Santa, the movie was made last year. Has been released on DVD in America for at least 10 months and has only just come to the cinemas here a month. If they (the movie companies) want to counter piracy, they need to look at their own actions before passing the blame onto the public who are sick to death of waiting for a movie to be released in their part of the country/world.

AMEN DIGGS, trying to fuck over us piratez geez whats the world comming to, Any way if your a leech as I am you off course will be using the latest security to stop these thugs getting your details wouldent you. But if you arnt then simply visit http://www.bluetack.co.uk/index.php and download 2 programs, The first is Protowall and the second is Blocklist manager. The later keeps your protowall uptodate. Since my last reboot last night Proto has blocked packets to ARIA and MPAA and I have even had packets blocked to the NSW Federal Police ( SCARY SHIT EH !!! ) so if your smart and you use BT or any other type of P2P Program then run this while you are downloading or suffer the consequences.
