Sooo many issues with this game, but when I do get to play before dropping, it is awesome.

hakenspit's dusted off the keyboard over on the west coast for some bf3 fun...sent you an invite bugs

yeah have to admit I face similar issues max...every 15-20 min or so i seem to just time out...really enjoy some of the big infantry only maps for the bigger fire fights, not yet ventured into any of the planes of choppers yet (except for one accidental spawn...lucky eject key is the instinctive).
Played a little bit of the single player campaign...reasonable nothing too hard (maybe 40 min in on hard) or overly taxing...might go back and finish.

Have not tried the co-op...max I see you have (trauma hadn't last time I looked)...hows that play out?

I have sorted most issues now.

Coop was causing probs too, sorted that out. It was actually not that easy. Played with and old TFC mate from my HrA days. Something that fixed timeouts in multiplay caused connection problems in coop, i think. Happy to have a go any time. Cheers, Max

Hellooo - The maps are too big for me, i prefer Bf BC 2 still. What are the best infantry maps in BF 3 ?

Operation metros not bad..some fun battle in and around train subway station..couple of other maps also play out well (tehran ) in inf only mode...though can become mortar spam at times.

I tried some co-op max and reckon its only with doing if your playing with someone you know...otherwise they just go off and do silly things..would definitely be some fun though.

Second co-op mission is completely in a helicopter, one flying and one gunning. You can't seem to choose which, completely random. Learnt to handle the chopper doing it. :D

Jolly, yeah there are a few infantry only maps that are quite good. (cant remember names though.)

Well I know so far max, myself and bugs have all been plagued by crashes since last patch. so to help others...

Max put me onto the disabing UPNP and also SSDP discover in service.msc...along with disabling in the router.

Has worked a treat for me...no more crashes.

I have also set bf2 and origin to run as admin...but I think I will back those out and see if changes still work....will update if I do.

Good to hear it helps.

Just remember, you need UPNP etc to use co-op. Bizarre that I need to change the settings between when I multi or co-op!

Just thought I would mention that I have created a WTF platoon, seeing as you can belong to multiple platoons thought it could be a good way to keep a social WTF side to things and some shits and giggles.

stats dont lie fellas...look down at the K/D..see i am good cannon fodder, a fact the TFC guys will quickly agree to. THough now I can prove I am skill full cannon fodder....

Oh btw dont use the anti air or regular vehicle guns to shoot at planes and choppers as it will destroy your accuracy rate (mine dropped from about 14% down to 8% after I sepnt large parts of 2 maps in anti air), stupid really considering how much of a spray and pray anti air is a lot of the time.

Whats clears is that we are still not a clan of chopper/plane/tank whores...which probably explains a lot of our issues with bf2 and to a lesser extent bfv.

So traums have you got the multi screens up and running properly yet?

Anyone else had the thought that hooah...is just a bad phonetic attempt to spell whore?
Seeing some of the stats racking up I can see it being almost interchangeable.

EDit...just played a couple more rounds...fixed that skill issue...

That skill ranking is a useless stat...If I kill an ass kicker it goes way up and if I get killed by a nub it drops...and I wouldnt worry about your accuracy rating...if your support and doing your job properly laying down supressive fire then it will drop to all hell.

If you havent finished the co-op levels give me a yell...I havent done any of them and I would like some of the unlocks!

Its a sad day that there are only 4 WTFers still active for BF3 :(

Yeah I also have not completed any of the co-ops...lack of voice comms and being paired up with random makes it tough.
Will message you next time we ar eboth and and see if we have some time to tackle some of the missions.

Yeah sad day indeed...I would have thought ptp would be playing...lurking somewhere...though he did seem to lose interest in the bf series (didn't play competive after 42 I dont think...now was that the year or game?).

Hope you can handle a choppper reasonably well, you need it to get past mission 2. Problem is it randomly drops one of you in the pilot seat.

lol max, the fact I was somehow the top of our so called skill ranking made me laugh..I think I had the lowest kd ratio.
Shit I have revived more people as I have killed...596 kill 691 revives (why oh why is it now so fucking hard to get defib kill...are they even possible anymore?)
Yeah I have the joystick sitting waiting...but really would like to calibrate it with some test flights...any way to prac choppers in private? been a while since I bothered flying (was bfv days) anything besides a jeep.

There is no planned way of flying, however, the last big patch introduced the ability for players to start playing on a server even with just one player. Had heard that you might not start the actual game, be be allowed to use vehicles etc, but doesn't go on scores. So hit up a fast vehicle respawn map with zero players and try that.

yeah great idea max, went onto some random swizz server that was 1player start and discovered I needed to calibrate badly (if I wanted to turn right...or assign buttons). Spent 15 min installing drivers then tweaking things (discovering that by default the fire key is not the trigger on the joystick? WTF..thats silly)
All set up now...still rusty but atleast its due to pilot error rather than controls not working.

I see you completed the heli co-op mission on easy. Were you doing the flying?

MajorDilemma and I had a weird occurrence the time we did complete it. THe last heli to pick up and leave was just sitting there, the soldiers wouldn't enter the heli lol. The first heli had gone back down the canyon "successfully" but the AI obviously got confused with the other still waiting, and it just crashed in the exit canyon, and soldiers were in the water. We landed the heli on the area where the pick up was, and were shooting rockets at the friendly heli, and nothing happened. Eventually we landed the heli on the heads of the still waiting soldiers and they finally got in the waiting heli, and it flew off and we finished it lol It took nearly 5 minutes to coax the soldiers in.

Yeah I was flying, have played through it a 3 times, once the gunner bailed. Other two times fairly easy (second time by accident..as I actually completed the flying mission first.
Might try again on normal as easy was pretty easy once I started to remember some of teh throttle tricks to turning quickly (its a trade off...be careful you can easily end up in the tree's/poles/ground when first learning).

Had noticed the AI was a bit weird too....though nothing like what you had.

I am still trying to pin down all the keys so they are instinctive on the joystick...which makes it soo much easier IMO.

Even jumped in a chopper in a live map..though it was one of the russian "boats" (those things are soo fucking slugish on the controls) that they pass off as a chopper.
Sadly the gunner I had was useless and got taken out by a tank (*facepalm* set him up with a good 3 -4 passes and he never fired once, I got a couple of rocket hits but I am still getting used to that crosshair so my own accuracy struggled a little.
But really its my job to fly his to gun anyway so I blame the gunner (heheh).
I still cant circle strafe like people used to in bfv but will keep working on that part. Besides from what I have seen its not as big a tactic (atleast in pubs) choppers seem to pop in do some damage maybe cap and then move on, clan games might be different though. Then again I stick to large 64 or so player servers normally so more aircraft in the air to worry about which probably means they shouldn't be getting the time without one o you jets, other chopers, AA, Engi's etc. causing them to duck out alteast briefly.

I also need to work out what I have the mouse key bound to when in planes (that first attempt on the chopper map was funny...spent the first 5 minutes lost...I didn't wait and see the hueys take the squads and keep flying out of bounds trying to work out where i needed to go. After about 5 min I finally got a visual on the squads under fire and was smooth sailing from then.

Oh btw every time I have joined that map I have been in pilots seat...maybe cos I have joystick plugged in or seriously weird luck? You seemed to indicate that you and major alternated with no real pattern.

Well fuck me sideways...it really is bringing out some old farts..errr faces :D
Might run into traums though dont think ons even owns it, juggies rumored to be lurking around bf3..but I am yet to track him down(sharpening my knife in anticipation).
I have set up a WTF Platoon....just for shits and giggles..no comp play just a chance to trash talk each other over bad accuracy...sent you an invite.

Oh and I stopped playing over last couple of weeks due to my back going stupid..going to be cranking up the hours again soon enough (those little ribbons make all the blood, sweat, cursing lost limbs all to get the game running worth it!).
