connection drops when changing users

hey ppl,

i,ve just reformatted and re-installed XP with sp2

the problem i have is that when i switch from user A i dont have a connection available to user B and when i connect to the internet with user B it bumps user A.

it used to stay active or at least give the option to disconnect...it doesnt do that now =(....just wondering if theres an option i missed?

Try this although it applies to dailup it should work with DSL/Gayble.

From the Control Panel, launch Network Connections. Select the connection you want to share and click on Change settings of this connection in the pane on the left. On the Advanced tab, check the boxes Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection and Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet. Now the connection will stay open through a Fast User Switch.

cheers viss i tried what you said but while i was doing so i found that if you go to the start menu and choose 'connect to' and ten you connection, it comes up with a different panel to connect ...and on there it has the option of making the connection available to me or all users...and that seems to have fixed it....
