gday all!
im going to put together a new rig and am posting here for opinions on hardware and what/not to buy.
going to build a gaming beast :P nah i'll be using the pc for gaming mostly but a little bit of word processing and internet use.
im willing to spend $2000 - $2500 without monitor.
For monitor im looking at 17" LCD's. Anyone have any suggestions/reccomendations as to which one to buy? Remember that i will be using it for gaming mostly so it needs a fast refresh rate
I'm going to Melbourne in about a month's time so I could pick up some parts from any stores around the area. Or if it works out cheaper/same price I can get them delivered.
At the moment i am leaning towards MSY (msy.com.au) because they are a lot cheaper than everywhere else and i can pick up everything when i'm in melbourne.
(i live in tasmania)
so.. yep anyone have any ideas of what i should buy and where i should buy it from? I'd preferable buy everything from the same place.
im open to any suggestions as i haven't decided on any parts yet.
thanks
David

PtP designed this pc of mine some years ago now..It has never mised a beat.

PtP designed it an I had it built by another mate in sydney, cost was about $3000 just for the box.

PtP has done one upgrade and that was a radeon 8500
Side note, I didnt give PtP a budget, just asked for reliability and afordability. He gave me compatability and stability.

no dvd burner, just a cd burner
dunno about the ram, thats what was reccomended but it looks expensive
maybe a different case, i haven't looked at that one yet. and $179 for a power supply, ill look for a case that comes with power supply.
