Hardcore lag spikes

I have been having serious problems with major lag spikes over the past few days, they occur probably every 10 seconds or so, and sometimes last for 5 sec!!!
My average ping on GA servers was sround 30, but now i spike to 2000 at random.

Its driving me nuts and renders any form of gameplay useless.
Any info on what normally causes them would be of great service.

Thats sounds like the doozy of a virus i had b4 be dammed if i can remember the name of it but by the end of it i was getting blue screens
