RedPhive spoke with Erik Johnson about the status of the Steam network and got this response:

"We're working on putting together a traditional installer for release today
that should get things working for people. It's going to be a fairly large
download, but once installed should make everything work much better."

my steam is fine now its updated hl and tfc, but i can't connect to any servers :/ it just freezes

ill have to see if internode will host one too.. they have some steam CS 1.6 patch on the steampowered site.. is that the same file?

i have the same problem polar :|

it fkn hangs all the time

i think it wants to downlad something each time it joins a server... at 1.5 KB/s ffs

well mine hhun for a while when joining a game, that is because it is still updating tfc, after i left it over night, all is fine, tfc 1.6 rocks and steam works pritty damn fine 2

but i was actually playing TFC 1.6 at one stage

but still every time i go to join the server it takes forever and i end up closing it... (there is nothing happening in monitor window)
