Steam Update Released

We have just released a Steam update. If you haven't already done so, you'll need to exit and restart Steam.

Here is a list of what's included:

Reduced the need for clients with fully populated caches to connect to a content server
Reworked some of the retry logic for content server tickets on the Steam backend
Fixed weirdness with next/prev buttons in conversion wizard
Fixed failed login potentially opening two error dialogs
Added conversion wizard any time a cache for a game is created, if there is an existing installation to convert from
Fixed bad error messages for connection issues when logging in
Enabled cancel button on conversion wizard
Optimized Friends searching with wildcards
Fixed "NumRegisteredChildern" assert

i dont think i had any problems with anything there anyway

i want em to fix it so u can move ingame (TFC etc) when u are playing a steam game, ie it will fade into the background like the messaging/friends (it doesnt now it sticks around on top and u cant move:/)

so good to see no one has probs with steam

I would really like to play the new TFC 1.6 and maybe even take a look at CS 1.6

BUT all i get with steam is THIS CRAP :realmad:

let it download and validate valve maps when joining a server

looks like its not doing anything, but it is... alt-tab and check the "monitor" window in steam

yeah its all good , but now i get this message when trying to join a server

You have been disconnected from the server.
Reason: Invalid STEAM UserID Ticket


what does this mean, and can i fix it

i was getting same...
im not sure how i fixed it.. ive e-mailed Valve and still no reply.
I opened open steam via registry edit and looked.. didnt change anything and it worked again.
First time it happened it updated and was fine.
Had it 3 times.. working again now though :(

How does the "Invalid Steam UserID Ticket" happens.
this happens when u use the remember password function, tat bypass the log in screen where u have to enter ur password during the next log in. never use this function, enter ur password and log in manually.
