Game show contestants sue after finding woman is a man
Six men are suing the makers of a TV reality game show after spending three weeks trying to seduce a South American woman they later found out was a transsexual.
The contestants have hired celebrity law firm Schillings to bring the legal action against Sky and There's Something About Miriam's production company.
The law suit will include allegation of conspiracy to commit a sexual assault, "because they didn't consent to be kissed and fondled by a man."
The six are also suing for defamation, breach of contract and personal injury.
While viewers know her secret from the start, the contestants only discover the truth after Miriam picks the winner, then lifts her skirt. The Sun says one embarrassed contestant was so furious at the revelation that he punched the show's producer.
Miriam is a pre-op transsexual.
Schillings have insisted the programme be delayed until the legal dispute is settled. The show, presented by Tim Vincent, is due to start on Sky One on November 16 at 9pm.
All six contestants signed papers handing producers free reign to use any footage before filming.
